About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the agency's legislative affairs advisor and congressional liaison, ensuring senior leadership is informed on congressional matters and that the agency's positions, responses, and legislative materials are effectively coordinated with Congress. Duties performed: Brief senior leadership on congressional authorized and appropriation matters and legislative developments. Coordinate and manage interactions with House and Senate Authorizing and Appropriations Committee staff. Prepare congressional briefing materials, talking points, background papers, and testimony support. Research, analyze, and evaluate legislative issues for impact on agency programs and leadership decisions. Coordinate agency responses to congressional inquiries, budget-related matters, and program/project/activity-related matters, including work with program and financial offices.
