Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing)

Account for and process surgical instruments, to include complex loaner sets for scheduled cases, emergent cases, and clinic/ward instrumentation. Visually inspect required instruments for cleanliness, sings of damage, deterioration, imperfection, rust, pitting, and cracks. Determine proper sterilization procedures, by various methods and cycles, for different types of items. Conduct inventory of sterilized trays and checks package integrity and expiration dates. Document shortages of instruments and other sterile supplies according to organization policy and guidelines
