Assistant United States Attorney (Civil)

The office is accepting applications for permanent Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) openings in our Civil Division in the Charlotte and Asheville offices. The AUSAs will be responsible for conducting a wide range of civil litigation including, immigration actions involving denaturalization proceedings and challenges to immigration status, detention, and removal decisions, as well as defensive litigation involving the Federal Torts Claims Act, the Administrative Procedures Act, Title VII, constitutional torts, and other areas of the law. The selected candidates' duties may also include financial litigation on behalf of the United States involving the collection of restitution owed to crime victims and debts owed to the United States. The Civil AUSAs will be required to appear in federal district court, bankruptcy court, and state court.
