What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will support the implementation of policies, regulations and guidance to mitigate the impact of floods, and supporting multi-hazard risk reduction initiatives through Federal, State, Tribal and local government entities.Typical assignments include: Advising senior leaders on the implementation of the floodplain mapping program (Risk MAP), which helps assess and plan for flood risks. Working with stakeholders to plan and guide the flood mapping program over several years, while also managing the branch's annual multi-million-dollar budget. Addressing complex issues related to flood mapping and community outreach by collaborating with experts and stakeholders. Managing complicated projects and helping to resolve issues that involve multiple stakeholders, particularly where floodplain management rules and flood insurance are concerned.
