About the role

The incumbent carries out the following specific responsibilities: 1. The Director, Office of Budget (Director), is responsible for budgetary analysis, recommendations, and implementation relating to Departmental objectives, programs, and financial plans. This includes related policy and legislative issues. In this role the incumbent advises senior Departmental officials on budgetary requirements, long and short-term analyses, application of the Administration's budgetary policies, and legislative matters that are included in the budget proposal or appropriations process. 2. The Director is the Department's liaison with OMB on all budgetary and appropriations matters, providing extensive staff support and timely, responsive follow-up.
