About the role
Diagnoses and corrects malfunctions of aircraft systems IAW FAA, AF, and manufacturer's procedures. After repair, does ground check (i.e. "run-up") of aircraft systems as necessary to ensure proper operation. Performs scheduled inspections in accordance with Air Force and FAA regulation and manufacturer recommendation. Performs annual inspections IAW FAR Part 43. Performs major alterations and repairs. Supervises progressive inspections. Prior to all required inspections conducts a thorough preflight and ground run to identify aircraft discrepancies to be resolved during the inspection. Accomplishes Airworthiness Directives and manufacturer's service bulletins as applicable to aircraft. Treats aircraft for corrosion in accordance with FAA Advisory Circular 43-4, Corrosion Control for Aircraft.
