About the role

Coordinates with and supports the Chief of Drug Treatment Programs in the development and implementation, administration, training, designation, data collection and oversight activities for the operation of Bureau's drug abuse and specialty treatment programs including programming for the mentally ill and sex offenders. Coordinates with and supports the Chief of Drug Treatment Programs in reviewing initial designations and transfers for their appropriateness for treatment programs throughout the Bureau including RDAP, treatment for the mentally ill and sex offender treatment. Provides expertise to the DSCC on laws effecting designation and computation of inmates, i.e., the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 (Walsh Act) and the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 (VCCLEA).
