About the role
As Law Enforcement Officer (Lieutenant), GS-1801, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: Perform law enforcement duties including investigation, apprehension, arrest, detention, or prosecution of persons violating applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Conducting investigations of a number of complex and varied matters in a wide range of locations, involving both geographically isolated and densely populated areas that involve locating, securing, and protecting crime scenes. Collecting and/or seizing evidence, including correspondence, maps, historical information, exhibits, and photographs; then preserving and protecting it, and properly disposing of it upon completion of the case. Controlling vehicular traffic and investigating traffic offenses and accidents involving operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fatalities, injuries, or property damage.
