About the role
The High Voltage Electrical Worker: Assists in a wide variety of electrical inspections, tests, trouble-shooting, repairs, splicing (high, medium, and low voltage), power distribution, maintenance and installation of high voltage power distribution systems(from 4,000 to 13,200 VAC), 480 VAC, 220 VAC, 11 O VAC, 220 VDC, 110 VDC, 24 VDC and 12 VDC electrical cables, switches, transformers, and other components associated with these electrical systems. Assists in performing all types of high and low voltage cable splicing which includes above ground, underground, underwater performed on a floating barge and shipboard. Performs electrical system and equipment maintenance and repair aboard ships, fleet service craft, and around the facility when directed. The ideal candidate has knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety requirements and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements associated with the various electrical systems.
