About the role

Assists in justifying and recommending new or amended Federal Aviation Regulations. Develops policies, standards, programs, and procedures for general aviation and commercial operations. This includes, but is not limited to, rule-making documents, guidance, advisory materials, technical evaluations, and safety promotion material. Assists in establishing collaborative relationships with external aviation organizations to address safety issues and seek innovative mitigation of such issues. Analyzes safety issues and seeks a wide range of regulatory and non-regulatory responses to ensure rapid adoption of remedies to general aviation safety concerns. Participates on industry and other external work groups and teams to address specific safety and other general aviation issues. Assists in developing guidelines, standards, and certification methods and associated written products to carry out policies for addressing safety and related general aviation requirements. Other duties as assigned.
