Marine Cargo Specialist

Plan, coordinate, develop or review preliminary detailed pre-stowage plan of a variety of cargo (vehicles, general cargo, hazardous material including ammunition, etc.) utilizing the Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES). Ascertain whether cargo offered for booking can be accommodated in available space aboard designated vessel and advises Battalion leadership or unit representatives as to changes in relation to amount and type of cargo offered. Prepare Final Loaded stowage plan and executive summary for vessel loaded at Port of Embarkation. Coordinate with unit movement representatives for unit deployment lists in preparation of documentation activities for the deployment and redeployment of military units. Serve as primary coordinator between contract personnel and the Battalion to ensure availability, proper use of government furnished lashing gear, equipment and dunnage.
