About the role
You will serve as a Material Handler and be responsible for performing the full range of warehouse operations - ordering, receiving, stocking, inventorying, treating, and issuing materials and equipment. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Receiving, storing, handling, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment. Sorting and segregating material and making note of overages, shortages and damages and making verbal and written reports to the supervisor. Repacking various items that are received and do not comply with packaging and repacking to comply with warehouse standards. Performing consolidation, integration and staging of material(s) and keeping logs (manual and/or computerized) of the process. Ensuring safe receipt, storage, and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances in accordance with safety regulations.
