Lead Transportation Assistant

Duties include but are not limited to: Interviews patient and/or provider for transportation requirements. Uses computer software programs to process patient data to determine eligibility. Determines best means of transportation either contract or non-contract Utilizes VA regulations to determine eligibility of patient. Interprets local policy to determine best means of transport Uses Microsoft Excel to create and update spreadsheets for various logs and reports. Uses computer menus to process data for Beneficiary Travel programs. Dispatch drivers to pick-up and drop-off locations. Communicates verbally with transportation agencies, supervisory staff, subordinates, staff, patients, and patient family members. Communicates with patients, contract transportation agencies, and Fiscal on invoices for billing of contract transport. Set priorities on a daily basis. Ensures all tasks are completed by due date.
