Supervisory Human Resources Specialist - Placement (Deputy Chief, Consolidated Staffing Unit)

As a Deputy Chief of the Consolidated Staffing Unit, is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operation of the Unit. In conjunction with the Chief, responsible for the planning, developing and administering of programs necessary for the accurate and timely processing and recording of the BOP's Merit Promotion and Delegated Examining actions. Advises on and resolves complex problems within the BOP-Careers Unit functional areas and provides guidance to Human Resources staff in field institutions, regional and central office. The Deputy Chief interprets Office of Personnel Management, Department of Justice and BOP policies and instructions and publishes procedural guides for their use within the Federal Bureau of Prisons. In addition, assists with developing policy for the Bureau which directly affects human resources functions such as Merit Promotion and Delegated Examining processing.
