Chief Information Security Officer

The position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at the Department of the Interior (Department) and reports to the Chief Information Officer. The incumbent carries out the following specific responsibilities: 1. Provides executive leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of information security policy and guidance. Collaborates with bureaus and offices, oversight agencies, and the Congress on matters relating to protecting Interior's information assets. 2. Serves as a key technical advisor to the Chief Information Officer, Departmental leadership, and bureau leadership on all aspects of information technology security. Maintains the Department's IT security scorecard and briefs at the Secretary/Assistant Secretary/Bureau-Office Chief Levels. Coordinates the Department's information security program at the executive level and below throughout Interior including meetings with Interior's management councils and CIOs. 3. Ensures the Depart
