Laborer

Major Duties include:Incumbent will be completing work involving demolition, construction, alterations, repair or modification of items and structures. Incumbent of this position must be knowledgeable of Industry Standards, VA and manufacturer's specifications to correctly determine methods and specialized techniques for work performance. Work performed will require moderate to heavy physical effort (i.e. lifting and moving construction materials and supplies such as heavy plaster board, broken cement, steel/aluminum beams and studs, ladders, scaffolding, etc.). Incumbent is subject to working from scaffolds, ladders and mechanical lifts. Incumbent will be required to use common hand tools and, under the supervision of a journeyman level tradesman, simple power tools. Incumbent must be skilled in the maintenance and use of tools and equipment used in the performance of assigned work. The incumbent must have knowledge of infection control guidelines, procedures and abatement technology
