About the role
DCR fulfills this mission by engaging in a broad set of activities, including: 1) the examination of DCOs for compliance with all relevant requirements of the CEA and Commission regulations, 2) writing rules and related policy documents on issues pertaining to DCOs, including the protection of customers in the bankruptcy or insolvency of an FCM or DCO, and 3) conducting daily risk surveillance by identifying, quantifying, and monitoring the risks posed by and to DCOs, clearing members, and their clients. As an executive at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the incumbent serves as a key member of the agency's leadership team. In this role, the executive is responsible for managing one or more key programs, advising the agency on policymaking, and collaborating across organizational lines on agency-wide issues. The Deputy Director for Examinations in DCR serves as a consultant and principal advisor to the Director, Division senior staff, and Commission senior staff concern
