Supervisory Health Science Specialist

Major Duties Include: Supervises and provides management and subject matter leadership to Research Information Security Workgroup professional staff to ensure ORO' s mission, roles, and functions are fulfilled with regard to the integrity of research compliance, oversight, and assurance in VA research programs. Provides oversight of the conduct of complex site reviews and investigations at VA medical facilities to evaluate for programmatic compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing the review, conduct, and oversight of VA research. Directs and manages the evaluation of highly technical and complex research study protocols for compliance with applicable Federal laws, regulations and policies governing information protection and privacy-related practices.
