Contract Specialist

Assignments include but are not limited to a range of tank-automotive technical vehicle equipment from repair and replacement parts through complex vehicle systems. Procures services including development of software data, maintenance and overhaul, facilities contracts, and design/ engineering efforts. Provides advice and assistance on all aspects relative to acquisition planning and procedural issues. Reviews purchase requirements and determines contractor adherence to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable procurement regulations. Determines method of procurement and selects appropriate solicitation format independently or as a team leader. Selects contract type that best serves the Government's needs, based on consideration of such matters as urgency, realistic delivery schedules, adequacy of competition, competitive nature of technical data and/or production capacities and tooling.
