About the role
The Electrician provides electrical services throughout the Smithsonian facilities for the installation of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls and equipment for the mission, health, comfort and safety of occupants and visitors and serves under the general supervision of the Craft Shop Supervisor. In this position, you will: Provide electrical services throughout the Smithsonian facilities for the installation of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, controls and equipment for the mission, health, comfort and safety of occupants and visitors. Repair, modify, maintain and troubleshoot the premise wiring systems of facilities to include interior and exterior wiring, lighting, control circuits, emergency and standby power systems and signaling circuit wiring together with all their associated hardware, fittings and wiring devices, both permanently and temporarily installed.
