Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager 5C400/Central Monitoring Unit - EDRP Authorized

5C-400 / Central Monitoring Unit (CMU) is a telemetry/step down unit which is part of the Critical Care Unit (CCU). The unit provides care to critically ill, unstable patients in need of telemetry/step down care not needing intensive care and too high for medical floor acuity. Nurses practicing in a telemetry/step down setting must possess advanced nursing skills and expert knowledge of specialized electronic equipment used for the monitoring and treatment of acutely ill patients. On a day-to-day basis, a stepdown nurse will perform intensive medical interventions and maintain the life support systems of critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse(RN) - Nurse Manager(NM) is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other Nurse Managers as needed.
