About the role

The Division of Advertising Practices is responsible for consumer protection matters involving unfair or deceptive marketplace and advertising practices that cause consumer injury, including ensuring price transparency in enforcement verticals such as ticketing, healthcare, rental housing, and tech platforms. The Division monitors and develops effective enforcement strategies to address a range of marketplace and advertising techniques and media, including social media, and to protect kids online. The Division also enforces, develops, and reviews a variety of consumer protection laws and regulations, including the Unfair or Deceptive Fees Rule (Fees Rule); the Integrity, Notification, and Fairness in Online Retail Marketplaces for Consumers Act (INFORM Act); the Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule (Reviews Rule); the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA); the Opioid Addiction Recovery Fraud Prevention Act (OARFPA); the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act and the Contact Lens Rule;
