PROGRAM SPECIALIST

This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, this position may be extended to the fullest legally allowable period without further competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly experienced and knowledgeable professional with a comprehensive understanding of Fire and Emergency Services (FES) programs, particularly within the framework of the Air Force and Department of Defense. This individual must possess expert-level analytical and evaluative skills to assess program effectiveness, recommend improvements, and resolve complex issues. The candidate should have a strong background in federal laws, regulations, and policies governing FES, combined with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans. Essential skills include exceptional written and oral communication for briefing high-level management, negotiating complex issues, and fostering collaboration across various agencies.
