Laborer

Performs a variety of laboring duties which involve grass cutting, edging, trimming of grass and shrubs in designated recreation areas. Duties involve the use of gasoline powered mowers, both walking and riding, powered edger & trimmers, blowers, and task related power tools. Polices recreation areas to include emptying garbage cans, cleaning bathhouse/restroom facilities to include toilets, shower stalls, laundry room, floors (sweeping and mopping), sinks, mirrors, concrete areas. Makes minor repairs on playground equipment (i.e., swings and slides), and reports maintenance issues to be submitted for work orders. Uses power washers to clean buildings, outdoor areas and equipment. Performs painting projects as needed. Performs some carpentry work. Trims overhanging branches on trees using power and manual saws. Picks up programming equipment (tables, canoes, trailers, etc.) from Equipment Rental Center or other activities.
