Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist

The Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist directs the work of subordinate employees and/or managers for more than one organizational units/projects/programs. Work usually includes a mixture of routine and complex projects/programs based on the objectives of the Air Traffic Safety Operations Oversight Division (AOV) and of the Air Traffic Safety Oversight Service. Applies advanced knowledge of the technical aspect of air traffic management and operations to direct the staff in the review and analysis of safety data from multiple sources to be able to identify potential aviation safety issues and emerging and changing risks and measures to correct and/or prevent safety issues. Applies an advanced understanding of the objectives of the major subdivision. Performs critical aspects of the budget planning process, including projecting short-term and long-term future needs and justifying resource requirements. Leads AOV's strategic engagement with the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) for t
