Audience Engagement Intern

Slate is hiring a paid audience engagement intern to help grow our social video audience. Ideal candidates think strategically about connecting with users across social platforms (from YouTube and TikTok to Instagram and beyond), both to expand Slate’s reach and deepen our relationship with existing followers. They have a newsy sensibility; know how to edit short-form video; write compelling copy; think creatively about how to engage scrolling audiences; have ideas for accessing new audiences; and are able to use analytics to guide strategy.   The audience engagement intern will be able to help identify how digital media trends are evolving and have a desire to experiment with new strategies and test those instincts.
