About the role
Serves as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research responsible for the technical and programmatic functions associated with the conduct of research programs and development of technical positions for national standards, regulatory guides, rules and regulations related to protection of nuclear power plants and fuel cycle facilities through evaluations of static and dynamic soil and rock properties, slope stability, and seepage analysis; analysis/modeling of soil and rock under dynamic loads; and evaluation and design of earth retaining systems, embankment dams, structure foundations, and ground improvement projects. The evaluations would include application of semiempirical methods and modeling and simulation tools, using multi-physics and artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms and data analysis.
