About the role
Provides interface with top departmental program and staff officials. Assures that matters and projects are developed at subordinate levels receiving the depth of review and coordination essential to meet the Director's objectives and are ready for action and endorsement. Participates, and often takes lead, in the preparation and review of briefing or decision documents, and reports that develop the information necessary to make decisions that represent the views of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Serves a special projects officer with responsibility for coordination and planning of special projects and events, which may involve the supervisor's participation.
