About the role
The LPN/LVN is responsible for goals and interventions that promote veterans in attaining maximum functional potential. This is accomplished through but not limited to modalities such as ambulation, bowel and bladder training, dressing, grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, range of motion exercises and fall prevention modalities. The work is performed in the Endoscopy suites and in most patient care areas of the hospital. The individual will be working with some patients with potentially communicable disease: work is performed in an environment where x-rays are utilized as an adjunct to diagnostic procedures and chemicals are used for sterilizing instruments. However, risks are minimal with usual precautionary measures. Incumbents will be required to work rotating on call hours including nights, holidays and weekends.
