About the role

Your job is more than a job. The Controlled Access Unit patient population includes those in custody or incarcerated: • No patient in cardiac drips • General medical surgical patients • Pre-op and post-op patients • Patient is shackled to the bed (1 leg) • Minimum of 1 guard per patient 24/7 • Always accompanied by 1 deputy for any patient interactions • Safe place to work; 24/7 available lieutenant on site, plus captain and major on day shift. Your Everyday • Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care. • Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone. • Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns. • Prevent and treat wounds. • Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment
