Registered Nurse - Mental Health (PTSD)

The Western New York VA Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to work Full Time (Day/Night) on the Mental Health PTSD Domiciliary Team at the Batavia VA Location. The PTSD Domiciliary - Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and leading the provision of competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients, and will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. The incumbent actively participates in mental health interdisciplinary treatment team, patient safety and environment of care rounds, and responds to psychiatric and medical care needs and emergencies as directed. He/she facilitates shift report, warm hand-offs, and nurse-led psychoeducational groups; use therapeutic communication techniques, practice de-escalation techniques, utilize recovery-oriented language, and provide oversight of the patient safe medication management program.
