Emergency Management Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the development of public health and medical preparedness and response capabilities by leading and coordinating the relevant emergency management activities for the agency. Coordinates and communicates Emergency Preparedness goals and activities with other Emergency Preparedness programs. Provides sound advice and consultation on a wide range of functions affecting the overall public health, medical planning, response, and recovery activities; and participates nationally in planning efforts to improve the Indian Health Service's ability to support requests for assistance before, during, and after emergency response activities. Identifies agency public health and medical resources and capacities, as well as geopolitical, economic, or other issues and threats in the agency that may influence or impede a rapid and effective health and medical response. Provides education and information to assist Federal, State, Local, Territorial and Trib
