WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Research Microbiologist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Conceiving and directing major, multi-phase basic and applied research in a microbiological specialty area. Reviewing experimental protocols, advising on the operational aspects of the studies and managing the review, appraisal and interpretation of final experimental results. Developing new and innovative research methods to attack highly complex fundamental issues. Evaluating extramural research projects and recommending revisions, continuations or terminations as necessary. Preparing publications and presentations and representing the agency on scientific committees.
