About the role
The primary purpose of this position is: To develop, modify and apply inspection techniques such as ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic or liquid penetrant on parts, components or complete systems for which procedures/processes have not been developed. Trains reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. 1. Using the ultrasonic-eddy current processes, performs inspections of aircraft, engine, missile, ground support equipment, etc., parts and components, support equipment structural members, components, parts, and other materials for which inspection procedures and/or acceptability standards are inadequate or not available. 2. Conducts industrial radiography (x-ray) tests on aircraft components and parts for which procedures/processes have not been developed. 3. Ultrasonic eddy, current and magnaflux/zyglo inspection duties. Administers the Spectrometric Oil Analysis Program (SOAP). 4.
