About the role
CARPENTRY: The incumbent specializes in Carpentry and must know how to plan and measure material according to requirements and dimensions outlined in instructions. Must have the skill to use tapes, rules, and squares accurately and to use shop tools, such as hammers, handsaws, planes, screwdrivers, power saws, and power planers. Has a thorough knowledge of wood and wood substitute materials, and construction techniques. They are skilled in the operation of general and precision carpentry and woodworking equipment and are able to produce finished products with precise fits, accurate dimensions, and acceptable appearance. The incumbents are able to interpret complex instructions, sketches, blueprints, and building codes. PLASTERING: Must have a basic knowledge of plastering trade practices and be able to apply commonly accepted work methods and techniques.
