About the role
GS-2181-12: (1) Responsible to the AASF Commander for maintaining the Army aircraft assigned to the AASF in a high state of operational readiness for use in performing the AASF's operational and training missions. Receives from the AASF Commander the mission requirements for operational aircraft. Studies operational requirements and determines aircraft maintenance, repair parts and service required to accomplish AASF mission. Advises and makes appropriate recommendations to AASF Commander on capabilities and requirements of logistical support elements to meet current and projected workloads. Advises, briefs and represents the Commander on status of maintenance and a variety of maintenance related issues and operation of aircraft.
