About the role
Responsible for the coordination; implementation and monitoring of the institution's training and employee development program, and is the primary advisor to the Warden in matters relating to the management of the Employee Development Department. Serves as the direct and primary advisor to executive and mid-level management staff on matters related to employee development and training and is deemed the technical expert. Provides guidance to all staff in reference to training needs assessments and individualized staff development plans. Develops course outlines, lesson plans, course schedules, reports, etc., and establishes guidelines and operational procedures for subordinates in performing these duties. Develops and implements effective tools of evaluation for the training program. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
