About the role
Promotes an understanding of the characteristics and needs of advanced learners. Collaboratively plan with core content cluster teachers to extend student learning by developing differentiated curriculum, instruction, and assessment for students (LoS III/IV) Deliver Critical and Creative Thinking Lessons to all students 2-4 times per year (LoS I) Provide communication and information to all stakeholders about the AAPS program to include identification processes and procedures, differentiation, and Levels of Service. Prepare and maintain accurate records about students receiving a higher level of services. Work with administrators and counselors to cluster group students receiving LoS III and IV for the following school year. Participate in IEP meetings for students with multiple exceptionalities (AAPS + IEP/504 plan) to provide input during the development and review of goals and accommodations. Consult and collaborate with support personnel (e.g., counselor, school psychologist, etc.)
