About the role
Measures customers, fits and marks garments. Lets-out or takes-in garments. Shortens collars, sets shoulders and sleeves, and replaces parts that are damaged. Reduces chests, narrows lapels, and relines coats and skirts; tapers skirts, trousers and shirts and re-pads shoulders. Inserts gussets in coats, overcoats and reefers; replaces zippers in pants, skirts, coats and jackets; fabricates and recuts trousers. Manufactures Brigade Flags; stripe and sew insignias on clothing; constructs new collars, new buttonholes and reconditions old buttonholes; receives garments. Uses various electrical machines to achieve desired results. Keeps work area clean and obey all safety regulations. Physical effort includes standing, sitting for long periods of time; stooping, bending, kneeling; lifting up to 10 pounds.
