SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER

The purpose of this position is to serve as the Deputy Fire Chief responsible for the overall management and supervision of the fire protection/crash rescue and fire prevention program for the base. This position performs the following duties: As Deputy Fire Chief, participates in all aspects of the administration and planning of a comprehensive fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue program at the installation. Responsible for overall direction of the activities of the training, technical services, and operations programs and operation of the communications center. Reviews plans, schedules, and other management activities of subordinate assistant chiefs, ensuring that all programs are fully functional and operating at maximum efficiency and effectiveness. As necessary, reassigns employees to balance manning of subordinate programs and otherwise ensures that all programs are manned to accomplish the mission.
