Computer Assistant

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. Receives requests from users of taxpayer account databases concerning problems in processing of data transactions. Reviews on-line computer reports and diagnostic transcripts to locate problems/errors. Performs research to determine causes of problems/errors including system requirements, computer program requirements and processes, and the nature of transactions. Reviews users' on-line transactions to identify and analyze where problems/errors occurred in the posting of transactions such as incorrect command codes, failure to follow prescribed data entry processes, or conflict with system programming.
