SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is: To be a dual-certified air traffic controller in both the Ground Controlled Approach (GCA) to include Radar Final Control (RFC) and Tower. Provide air traffic control (ATC) services to military and civilian aircraft in the terminal environment, including the immediate vicinity of an airport, on the controlled movement area of the airfield and within the terminal radar environment using instrument flight (IFR) and visual flight rules (VFR). To provide for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of terminal (Tower and Radar) air traffic to Dobbins ARB, three satellite civilian airports just outside the airspace boundary, four designated Special Security Instructions (SSIs) within the airspace boundary, one adjacent Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), one adjacent FAA approach control facility and three FAA Control Towers.
