About the role

As a Environmental Health Scientist you will: Initiate and maintain scientific and technical liaison with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other Federal, State, tribal, local and territorial agencies. Lead expert analysis of environmental data associated with hazardous waste sites. Provide scientific expertise required to assess site-specific public health impacts of identified hazardous substances and to develop appropriate responses for requests. Provide technical advice, expertise, and recommendations regarding potential human health impacts resulting from exposure or potential exposure to hazardous substances. Responsible for the development of public health assessments and/or consultations for complex and/or politically sensitive sites. Attend, lead, and participate in public meetings to represent ATSDR and to clarify and defend ATDR's public health positions related to Public Health Assessments and Health Consultations.
