About the role
Supervise staff responsible for adjudicating applications submitted for benefits under the law involving potential threats to national security per the Controlled Application Resolution Review Program (CARRP). Review the internal and external vetting process as it relates to terrorist/national security and public safety cases and ensure that cases involving national security concerns are identified, recorded, and adjudicated under the CARRP guidelines. Coordinate with the FBI, the DOS (Diplomatic Security Service), the JTTF, the Terrorist Screening Center, and components within DHS (HSI, ICE, CBP), for the apprehension of aliens. Conduct and oversee the planning of independent research concerning the eligibility entitlements of persons seeking immigration benefits, employment, and/or legal status under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Review and make case determinations, hearing, and adjudicating appeals, and make decisions on reopening cases and on whether to reconsider case
