About the role

This position serves as the Chief Architect at the National Gallery of Art (NGA), and reports to the Administrator. The incumbent is the principle authority on all matters related to architectual design, facilities master planning, program management, project development, major renovation, capital constuction, and contract administration. The incumbent provides direction and coordination in the development and execution of agency-wide facilities planning and programming for major capital projects, including long-term space planning necessary to ensure the long-term care and upkeep of the Gallery's infrastructure, buidlings and leased space. Serves as principal advisor to the Administrator on comprehsneive campus planning, planning for relocations, and the capital construction projects which the NGA is undertaking to meet long-range (10 years) facility requirements, when funding is sought, and how projects are executed in conjunction with the Administrator, develops policies and procedu
