About the role
This position is located in the Office of Protection Services at the National Gallery of Art, the Office of Protection Services is responsible for safeguarding collections, visitors, staff, facilities, and information. Protection Services consist of five program areas: Security Operations, Risk Management, Technical Services, Administration, and Identification Section. This position manages a weapons training program including curriculum writing, maintaining the latest training techniques and acting as the primary weapons trainer. Duties for this position include: Serve as the primary armorer for AOP ensuring that firearms are within factory specifications and service and maintenance files are kept for each weapon. Maintain accountability of and ensures all supplies required for the safe conduct of range live fire, ansd for the cleaning and maintenance of weapons on hand.
