About the role

Plans, organizes and controls branch operations. Establishes branch goals and, based on periodic evaluation, determines the need to adjust them. Makes decisions on major projects and what resources in the branch will be devoted to a particular project. Furnishes advice to the Division Director and other officials on unique or complex Enterprise-wide systems problems and issues. Identifies potential for improvement and recommends changes as appropriate. Serves as a liaison with other SSA components and external authorities in various matters involving SSA programmatic systems. Provides technical direction and supervision to subordinate staff. Sets priorities and establishes schedules for completion of work and makes assignments based on priorities, relative difficulty of the assignment and the varying capabilities of the employees.
