Industrial Hygienist

Conduct surveys, evaluations, audits, and studies to evaluate occupational health hazards in compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop sampling strategies using indirect and direct reading instruments such as pumps, meters, heat stress monitors, and/or dosimeters, to quantify and assess hazards. Determine compliance with regulations for occupational health, safety, and environmental hazards and practices, recommending corrective action to management. Develop occupational health and industrial hygiene training for employees, supervisors, management, and other occupational health or safety professionals. Advise management on industrial hygiene and related safety/environmental compliance issues to eliminate potential health hazards. Utilize industrial hygiene practices to control a variety of occupational health hazards associated with noise, radiation, hazardous materials, industrial and sanitary waste treatment plants, indoor air quality, thermal stress, and ergonomics.
