About the role
Performs complex, specialized air traffic control assignments. Plans, coordinates, and participates in the performance of complex air traffic management (ATM) security and emergency operations related incident management functions. Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of air traffic control (ATC) procedures and operations, overall National Airspace System (NAS) operations, and the FAA's operational and regulatory authorities, responsibilities, and programs. Formulates, establishes, and sustains plans and procedures enabling unified ATO responses to significant incidents (e.g., hurricanes) utilizing the Joint Air Traffic Operations Command (JATOC) Crisis Action Team (J-CAT). This work broadly ranges from emergency operations-related directives (e.g., FAA Orders) to J-CAT job aids.
