Security Specialist

Responsible for the initiation and application of Department of Defense Personnel and Information Security policies and procedures. Provides recommendations to the Director on personnel security matters and provides technical assistance on interpreting higher headquarters (HQs) policy, and adherence to procedural requirements for processing security clearances. Recommends procedures for use in local policy and command directives for the Personnel Security Program. Executes and validates security clearances for all civilian, and contract personnel assigned to the MTF and authorized access to classified and unclassified but sensitive Defense Department information. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates data contained in reports of completed investigations to determine if sufficient information is available to make a loyalty or suitability judgment.
